Report: Former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick not going to Chelsea

Strike that one off the list...

According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, former Bayern Munich and German national team head coach Hansi Flick will not be making a jump to Chelsea FC as the 59-year-old is focused on other opportunities:

Flick has been loosely linked to the job openings at Bayern Munich and FC Barcelona, while also — allegedly — being a candidate for Manchester United should the Red Devils sack Erik ten Hag.

Something, however, has prevented Flick from being a serious contender with Bayern Munich. Is it the hard feelings from Flick stepping away during his last tenure with the club? Is it the fallout from his disastrous flameout at the 2022 World Cup? Is it the perception that he can no longer control a locker room after the German national team’s ill-fated Amazon documentary?

Who knows, but it does appear as if Flick has some irons in the fire, it just remains to be seen how hot they really are.
